**ASSIGNMENTS DUE/ANNOUNCEMENTS FOR TUES. 3/17

ALL CLASSES: PLEASE READ!
....a few practical things to remember during this very unprecedented time for us all:
  • remember to check your school email, texts, Remind, and this blog at least once per [week] day; I'm keeping this all manageable, y'all, for both myself and you all
    • I'll do my best to send out a daily group text message to each class just as a reminder for each day's tasks/to check here and that I'm available if needed (1st block, group text from me around 9am; 2nd 10am; and 4th 11am; *this text will be a reminder RE: instructions/due dates posted on here)
    • I'll also start posting some recorded info/helpful instructional and check-in videos or voice threads for you to access and watch/listen to later this week; keep an eye out for that on here and a text or email reminder as well!
  • PLEASE, PLEASE get ahold of me if you have ANY questions/doubts about what to do concerning ANY assignment, written or otherwise, reading, video, etc.; I'll get back to you as soon as possible
    • **I've added all my contact info (*EXCEPT my phone #--get it on the Google Classroom page you joined OR the class syllabus you received at the beginning of the semester!) to the header of this blog; take note if needed!
  • remember to be patient and flexible; we'll get the hang of this pretty soon. I'll be remembering the same for you all as well; this is definitely new territory for us all, and it'll be nowhere near perfect
  • And finally, take care of yourselves! If necessary, turn the TV off--especially the news/media, get off social media and detox, be aware of scare tactics and gaslighting in stories and headlines...but ALSO be aware of/protect your own health (mental and physical)

  • below find links to 14 VIDEOS from the WITCH TRIALS WEEKLY YouTube collection

    • extra notes from me under each video to guide you RE: the 'take away' from each video
  • TAKE THE TIME TODAY TO WATCH ALL 14 of the videos listed below (from +1min. to a few around +/-7min.)
    • trouble loading each from these links? You should then be able to Google search or go straight to YouTube and search "Witch Trials Weekly;" select each of the numbered videos below and watch
**AND FOR THE PURPOSES OF CLEAR MEANING AND CONTEXT, MAKE SURE YOU COME TO THESE VIDEOS WITH THE DEFINITIONS OF THE FOLLOWING WORDS CLEAR WITHIN YOUR MIND (CLICK ON THE LINKS OF EACH WORD, PLEASE!!):
WITCH TRIALS WEEKLY VIDEO 1: Business as Usual
**spectral evidence** and Alice Parker and the folk beliefs vs. religious beliefs about one's spirit

WITCH TRIALS WEEKLY VIDEO 2: What Tituba Saw
**the "truth" behind what Miller put in his play--and it's very close to his version in many aspects

**the plot thickens and Abigail speaks out--again; Elizabeth is implicated and the girls see something eerie....*Giles Corey mentioned here as well!!!

WITCH TRIALS WEEKLY VIDEO 25: Excommunication and Mounting Turmoil
**more of the same from above

**the ugly outcome of these trials on full display; Proctor's unbelievable refusal; reciting The Lord's Prayer perfectly and mass graves and exposés; *Note Mercy Short here!

WITCH TRIALS WEEKLY VIDEO 33: The Devil's Snare of False Confession
**more torment of girls, houses plagued by spirits and the devil, etc.

WITCH TRIALS WEEKLY VIDEO 39: Escape, Petitions, and a Halt in Proceedings
**dissatisfaction in the court system; doubts about evidence such as the "touch test" or "witch's glare"  that were pervasive in these trials
