--FIRST: CAREFULLY READ the AP LANG Q1 RHETORICAL ANALYSIS ESSAY "QUESTION ONE" PROMPT/EXCERPT (from Sontag's "Regarding the Pain of Others") 

• ANNOTATE the text for the MAIN CLAIM/ARGUMENT Sontag makes
• ANNOTATE pieces of EVIDENCE Sontag uses to support her CLAIM
• FIND and ANNOTATE 2-3 RHETORICAL/LANGUAGE ELEMENTS Sontag uses in her excerpt to support her CLAIM

**In class Monday we'll be going over your findings within this excerpt and compose possible THESIS STATEMENTS for an essay response to this Q1 prompt, and then we'll continue with the rest of the packet/an assignment to go with it 

**AND PLEASE TAKE NOTE: not completing this assignment (i.e., coming to class Monday with a blank, 'non-annotated,' or sloppy attempt at this assignment will results in a ZERO GRADE for this!
