*TOMORROW, WE WILL FINISH UP WITH THE "AP LANGUAGE SAMPLE PROMPT/STUDENT SAMPLE ESSAY/SCORING TASK/QUESTIONS" ASSIGNMENT YOU HAD THIS WEEKEND/INSTRUCTIONS BELOW:
Using the "Student Guide to Sample Examination II" AP Lang. practice essay ('supplemental' section of binder) given to you in class today:
1) READ the RHETORICAL ANALYSIS ESSAY QUESTION, PROMPT (from Sontag) and then the "Sample Student Essay #1" (on back)
2) After reading both above, use the "Scoring Rubric for Free Response Question One," decide on a SCORE you think is appropriate for this student response **BE READY TO DEFEND YOUR SCORE POSITION USING THE ESSAY RESPONSE, ITS MERITS, WHAT IT LACKS, UPPER vs. LOWER-LEVEL SCORE, etc.
3) After deciding (OR BEFORE!) on a score, complete the "You Rate It!"sheet, (on back) THOROUGHLY ANSWERING ALL FOUR (4) QUESTIONS
**REMEMBER: THIS STUDENT WROTE A 40-minute response; REWARD your student writer for what they DO RIGHT!
