**ATTENTION 4th HONORS AMLIT HW DUE MON. 3/1**

HW DUE MON. 3/1:

1) Over the weekend, carefully read Bradbury's short story "The Pedestrian" given to you F2F Thursday 2/25 and LINKED BELOW (**WRITING** section of binder)

2) As you read, HIGHLIGHT WITHIN THE TEXT the specific figurative details/LITERARY ELEMENTS I assigned TO EACH PERSON Thursday; highlight/make note of/be ready to explain for DISCUSSION FOR PARTICIPATION/DISCUSSION POINTS OF WHAT YOU FOUND MONDAY:

  • LIGHT imagery
  • DARK imagery
  • COLD/TOUCH imagery
  • FIRE/LIGHT/WARM imagery
  • specific SYMBOLS
    • **EVERYONE LOOK FOR A THEME/THEMES at work within the story (**RE: technology, dystopias, knowledge vs. ignorance, following the status quo, FEAR of the unknown, etc.)

Bradbury himself stated, “You don't have to burn books to destroy a culture. Just get people to stop reading them.”
