**HW ASSIGNMENT DUE MON. 2/1:
**please read the following instructions CAREFULLY, as this is a VISUAL RHETORIC ASSIGNMENT that will be completed both BEFORE class MON. 2/1!!**
1) Using the VIETNAM VETERAN PHOTOGRAPH you were given THURS. 1/28 (and PDF attached on the Classroom post), BEFORE YOU COME TO CLASS MON. 2/1, COMPLETE A VISUAL RHETORICAL ANALYSIS FOR THE IMAGE
- O.P.T.I.C. VISUAL ANALYSIS STRATEGY provided for you on one side; PHOTO on the other; COMPLETE HOWEVER YOU SEE FIT (annotations, marking up the photo, connections, POST-ITs, using the OPTIC chart, etc.)
- ANNOTATE/MAKE NOTES on the sheet and APPLY the O.P.T.I.C. strategy for visuals (gone over in class THURS. 1/28) from class to this photograph
- Mark it up! Note what stands out rhetorically! What's missing? What's present? What do you *assume* based upon this photo? What appeals are present? Body language?

- after going over this OPTIC HW assignment Monday, we'll continue with work on our GROUP "ONE-PAGERS" DIDLS PROJECTS for "The Rattler" or "Eleven" in class MON. 2/1; more info TBA then!
- VIRTUAL STUDENTS: you'll need to plan on virtually meeting with us MON. 2/1 EITHER 1st or 2nd block to join in some of the discussion and work on these projects in order to complete your own individual ones (**or shared with a group/partner who is also virtual in your class) at home via PREZI
