1) FIRST, everyone NEEDS TO READ THE FOLLOWING ANNOUNCEMENTS as we approach the last 2.5wks for YHC ENG 1102 and the last *3wks (*plus the exam countdown) for APLang:
- **AN IMPORTANT REMINDER TO MY SENIORS (everyone, really, but ESPECIALLY SENIORS right now): seniors, PLEASE don't 'lose steam' at this point in the semester; I know this is frustrating and tedious, but we're almost there; STAY. THE. COURSE, be consistent, and don't 'tank your grade' by slacking off. We're almost there :)
- HEY!!!! PLEASE CHECK YOUR SCHOOL EMAIL! I've been grading all night, and SOME OF YOU OWE ME AN ASSIGNMENT(s) that was due FRI, 4/17 @9am, and I've messaged you about that; ZEROS/LATES/'MISSINGS' ARE GOING IN THE GRADEBOOK FOR YHC and APLANG today...
- HEY AGAIN!!!! PLEASE CHECK YOUR GROUP APLANG TEXT MESSAGE (if you can)! I sent out an important text message RE: confirmation from you all RE: 'YES' or 'NO' to taking the APLANG EXAM that I need a response from you ASAP! PLEASE!!!!

2) NOW, ATTENTION ENG 1102 STUDENTS (**everyone but Josie will be completing this):
- to finish up in a meaningful way for ENG 1102, let's begin and read this week steadily through a good chunk of Chimamanda Adichie Ngozi's contemporary novel, AMERICANAH
Follow the *HIGHLY-suggested* FIRST-WEEK READING SCHEDULE below to keep yourself on track w/reading **AND I WILL BE READING ALONG WITH YOU EACH WEEK,** as your ENG 1102 FINAL EXAM WRITTEN RESPONSE in 2 wks will be based upon your reading of this novel:
- BY WED. 4/22, read through pp. 106 (*end of CHAPTER 6)
- post-it notes **suggested for major characters/plot points as you begin and get a 'feel' for this story
- BY FRI. 4/24, read through pp. 175 (*end of CHAPTER 14)
- again, post-it notes **suggested for major characters/plot points/anything that may help you toward the ENG1102 FINAL EXAM WRITTEN RESPONSE
- BY MON. 4/27 [over the wkend], read through pp. 278 (*end of CHAPTER 22/END OF PART 2)
- AGAIN, post-it notes **suggested for major characters/plot points/anything that may help you toward the ENG1102 FINAL EXAM WRITTEN RESPONSE
- THE ULTIMATE GOAL FOR THIS WEEK: to be through PARTS 1 and 2 of AMERICANAH by next week MON. 4/27
- THIS READING IS YOUR ONLY ASSIGNMENT THIS ENTIRE WEEK, and these reading 'chunks' are in manageable 6-7 chapters chunks; also, I will be reading as well
**AND ALSO NOTE THE FOLLOWING FOR THIS WEEK:
- expect a FIRST Rdg. Discussion HANGOUT BY THURS. 4/23 at the latest for discussion/to see where you're at in your reading/ask qu's

- Now that we know our *official UCHS semester end date* of 5/6, I'll talk to you more at the end of this week/next week about requirements to tie all this up for both APLang AND ENG1102
- APLang/EXAM-TAKER kids: more important info/procedures/instructions coming the last two weeks/wks leading up to the online home exam on 5/20: practice, practice, practice! ...and feedback from me! :)

1) FIRST, everyone MAKE SURE YOU'VE COMPLETED and/or TURNED IN/SUBMITTED BOTH THE FOLLOWING TO ME (*posted also on here last FRI. 4/17*)
--both these, I wanted you to complete/submit before the end of the day today, FRI. 4/17 (**thanks if already submitted/completed! (: )
- COMPLETELY finish reading The Road if you have not already; more wrap-up discussion/last assignments TBA later this week
- your Ely/The Road Rdg. pp. 160-184-ish Qu's responses/notes/post-its/annotations from earlier this week must be submitted to me by the end of today, FRI. 4/17
