**ATTENTION EVERYONE: PLEASE READ!!! IMPORTANT REMINDERS FOR WED. 4/22**

1st/2nd AP LANG/ENG 1102

**ATTENTION ALL, AP LANG/ENG 1102 FOR WED. 4/22: 

1) NEW ANNOUNCEMENTS/FYI for ENG1102 STUDENTS:
  • if you would, please, don't forget to log on to your YHC Moodle email and complete the ENG1102 course/instructor evaluation; thank you from me!
  • ALSO PLEASE NOTE: if you notice an email from YHC (either in your YHC Moodle email or your personal email) stating that you have books due to turn in at the end of the semester, PLEASE IGNORE THIS NOTICE. It's an automated email, and YHC has yet to set any sort of procedures for book return; it'll be a while, and I'll keep you posted on what I find out!

2) ATTENTION ALL STUDENTS WHO ARE PLANNING ON TAKING THE APLang (or any other) AP EXAM:
  • if you have not already, you MUST join the UCHS ADVANCED PLACEMENT (AP) EXAMS INFO GOOGLE CLASSROOM

  • We UCHS AP teachers updated this classroom over the past few days
  • Lots of important EXAM, TIMELINE, COMMUNICATIONS, LINKS, etc. info posted there; PLEASE CHECK THIS OFTEN!!
  • NOTE: I will be checking this AP CLASSROOM JOIN LIST tonight, and if I do not see you've joined but have told me you're taking the exam, expect to hear from me!!! I will be stalking you in the nicest way possible! :)

3) AND A FEW GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS AGAIN FOR EVERYONE: 

  • **AN IMPORTANT REMINDER AGAIN TO MY SENIORS (everyone, really, but ESPECIALLY SENIORS right now): seniors, PLEASE don't 'lose steam' at this point in the semester; I know this is frustrating and tedious, but we're almost there; STAY. THE. COURSE, be consistent, and don't 'tank your grade' by slacking off. We're almost there :)
    • HEY, EVERYONE, ALSO: AS OF TODAY WED. 4/22, YOUR APLang and ENG 1102 grade is UPDATED! Thanks for your patience with this! :)

    4) NOW, ATTENTION ENG 1102 STUDENTS (**everyone but Josie will be completing this):

    ***EVERYONE PLEASE KEEP READING AMERICANAH!!! (FYI, I'll be finishing CH. 6 and starting CH. 7 this evening, trying to stay on track with the schedule below)***

    • REMEMBER: this READING is the ONLY ASSIGNMENT you have this week for ENG 1102!!!

    Follow the *HIGHLY-suggested* FIRST-WEEK READING SCHEDULE below to keep yourself on track w/reading, as your ENG 1102 FINAL EXAM WRITTEN RESPONSE in 1.5 wks will be based upon your reading of this novel:
    • BY WED. 4/22, read through pp. 106 (*end of CHAPTER 6)
      • post-it notes **suggested for major characters/plot points as you begin and get a 'feel' for this story
    • BY FRI. 4/24, read through pp. 175 (*end of CHAPTER 14)
      • again, post-it notes **suggested for major characters/plot points/anything that may help you toward the ENG1102 FINAL EXAM WRITTEN RESPONSE
    • BY MON. 4/27 [over the wkend], read through pp. 278 (*end of CHAPTER 22/END OF PART 2)
      • AGAIN, post-it notes **suggested for major characters/plot points/anything that may help you toward the ENG1102 FINAL EXAM WRITTEN RESPONSE
    • THE ULTIMATE GOAL FOR THIS WEEK: to be through PARTS 1 and 2 of AMERICANAH by next week MON. 4/27
      • THIS READING IS YOUR ONLY ASSIGNMENT THIS ENTIRE WEEK, and these reading 'chunks' are in manageable 6-7 chapters chunks; also, don't forget I'm [re]-reading as well

    **AND ALSO NOTE THE FOLLOWING FOR THIS WEEK:
    • expect a FIRST Rdg. Discussion HANGOUT TOMORROW, THURS. 4/23 (time TBA later this evening/in the early morning) for discussion/to see where you're at in your reading/ask qu's

      • *I'll be scoring those and getting that in the grade book ASAP...
    • FYI: EXCEPT FOR yesterday's J#12, your HONORS AMLIT COURSE GRADE is updated from all previous assignments; check that out on Powerschool!  THANK YOU FOR YOUR PATIENCE! :)

    2) REGARDING OUR **REQUIRED/DAILY GRADE HANGOUT SESSION(s)** TODAY WED. 4/22:
    • HANGOUT #1 @1pm
    • HANGOUT #2 @2pm
      • **I've sent join invites for the first one, and as soon as I assess who was at the first one, I'll send an invite for the second one to those who need to attend
    DURING THIS HANGOUT, WE'LL BE GOING OVER/DISCUSSING THE FOLLOWING:
      • Now that we know our *official UCHS semester end date* of 5/6, I'll talk to you in our Hangout briefly w/an overview of requirements/FINAL ASSIGNMENTS to tie all this up for HONORS AMLIT/COMP; more in the coming week as well!
      • MAKE SURE you have your copy of THE ROAD with you as we meet and discuss the end of the novel 
      • ALSO, prepare to show me your novel POST-IT NOTES you've been making for the book, no matter how many you have--or do not have (**more info in the Hangout)
