**you may write your sentence(s) on this sheet, BUT please do so NEATLY and completely

--YOUR OWN CREATED SENTENCES WILL BE SHARED MONDAY IN CLASS AND FROM NOW ON IN CLASS FOR POINTS TOWARD YOUR WEEKLY DISCUSSION/PARTICIPATION GRADE!!

2) GIVEN TO YOU BY THE SUB FRIDAY, complete the JOURNAL #9 assignment (WRITING SECTION) explained to you in class today:
  • PART I--The Road and/or F451 HAIKUS Creative Writing Task:
**create THREE (3) original haikus following the instructions/guidelines in class/on the sheet 
  • PART II--"Reshaping The RoadDialogue Re-Creation Creative Writing Task:
**re-create/structure the section of dialogue from the novel on the sheet in any way you want so that the TONE, MOOD, and/or CHARACTERIZATION in the exchange is different, unexpected, more upbeat, given adjectives, etc. It's up to you! 

**PLEASE NOTE for J#9 that on MON. 10/8, EACH OF YOU for participation points will either share: 
  • ONE of your three HAIKUS for F451 or The Road  ...OR...
  • YOUR The Road Dialogue re-creation assignment

3) BY MONDAY, make sure you've completely read McCarthy's post-apocalyptic novel The Road: 
  • through pp. 234 [LAST LINE/BOTTOM OF THE PAGE: "Pray for lightning" (234).]

FYI ALL/**LAST CHANCE THIS WEEK!!!!**: for anyone interested, you can earn an EXTRA CREDIT 100% for 'formally' using **'post-it notes/notations' for our entire reading of THE ROAD over the next couple weeks; **MORE DETAILED INFO TBA in class!
