**ATTENTION ALL: DUE TO WEATHER, TUES. 12/12 is now the Shop With a Panther Day! If you are involved with this event and will not be in class, please know we will keep working on completion of SRPs through WED. 12/13 and the DEADLINE THURS. 12/14!!

PLEASE have your Chromebook or personal laptop with you in class THROUGH THURS. 12/14 as we work in class toward completing the SENIOR RESEARCH PAPER (SRP), worth 30% of your final course grade!

**UPDATE: BY WED. 12/13, YOU ALL SHOULD BE WELL BEYOND SRP CHECKPOINT #2 and working on "FINAL COMPLETION" of the body of your SENIOR RESEARCH PAPER!!** 

--be prepared each day THROUGH THURS. 12/14 in class to keep typing/writing, and I'll let each of you know about REVISION OF WHAT YOU HAVE WRITTEN AND FINAL COMPLETION REQUIREMENTS ON AN INDIVIDUAL BASIS!!!

FYI, FOR A GRADE IN YOUR FOLDER WED. 2/13, BY THE END OF CLASS for a SRP PROGRESS CHECKPOINT GRADE, students should have completed the FOLLOWING TASKS FOR GRADED CHECKPOINT #2 AS OUTLINED DAILY IN CLASS and placed in their folders and/or shared w/me via Google Docs for assessment:

**FOR THE TWO WEB/ONLINE sources and the ONE PRINT SOURCE GIVEN TO THEM BY ME IN THEIR FOLDER WED. 12/6 for their SRP PRINTED/placed in their provided folders: BASIC 8th ed. MLA CITATIONS WRITTEN OUT for practice on each source somewhere

**ALSO, RE: each of the minimum THREE SOURCES, make sure they are all READ/HIGHLIGHTED for their SRP COMPLETION

**completed typing the SRP TOPIC MEMO w/THESIS STATEMENT COMPLETED on the SRP SHARED DOCUMENT

**started and well into working on completing CORRECTLY/ACCURATELY THE ANNOTATED BIBLIOGRAPHY of their min. THREE SOURCES on the SRP SHARED DOCUMENT after the memo

**at this point after completion of CHECKPOINT #2, they are also ready to start COMPOSING THEIR SRP paragraph by paragraph, with the THESIS SENTENCE THE LAST SENTENCE OF THE FIRST PARAGRAPH

  • from INTO THE WILD, the theories Krakauer presents in his last chapters RE: McCandless's death vs. YOUR OWN interpretations and thoughts/evaluation
  • NEWEST THEORIES of what killed McCandless from various news articles published in the last 4-5 years (assigned below to each of you)
  • **FAMILY ISSUES that contributed to Chris leaving home (via your reading excerpts of his sister's memoir THE WILD TRUTH)
