2) After CLOSELY reading both texts, use your "American Literature Timeline" reference handout with the highlights/NOTES we took Thursday/Friday in class to:
--INCLUDE/MAKE NOTE OF for EACH STORY FIVE (5) KEY and SUBSTANTIAL ANNOTATIONS ON/FOR EACH STORY
**these FIVE for each annotations can be highlights, BUT THEY MUST ALSO INCLUDE A SHORT WRITTEN EXPLANATION
**tie each annotation to the story's THEME and/or to HOW the story fits into its particular ERA of AMERICAN LITERATURE/LITERARY GENRES

**IN SUMMATION: When your READING AND ANNOTATIONS are complete for this assignment you will have:
