THOSE OF YOU WHO HAVE NOT COMPLETED IT YET (*from class Tues. 3/28)
Be prepared to complete an AP LANGUAGE MULTIPLE CHOICE 1/2-EXAM PRACTICE #2!!!
--in class/TIMED (30min.)
--FOR A [SLIGHTLY LARGER] GRADE this time!

--**up to +3pts. EXTRA CREDIT will be applied here [that are earned from the x3 'CREATED QU's' ASSIGNMENT]

2) ALSO, IMPORTANT REMINDER:
For those of you who were absent Mon. 3/27 and/or Tues. 3/28, your AP LANG MULTIPLE CHOICE QUESTION PRACTICE and 3-QUESTION 'CREATION' ASSIGNMENT is due when you walk in the door!

3) FOR CLASS/DUE THURS. 3/30:  
**FIRST, READ and ANNOTATE the following TWO supplemental texts (given COPIES ALSO in class TUES. 3/28 and WED. 3/29): 

from "What Is Poverty?" --signed 'J.G. Parker' (1971), "METAPHORICAL" PERSONAL RESPONSE/LETTER 

"Superman and Me" --Sherman Alexie's PERSONAL ANECDOTAL ESSAY (1994)

**THEN: In class THURSDAY 3/30, WE WILL BE HAVING A 'ROUNDTABLE DISCUSSION' WITH THESE TWO TEXTS AND THE VIEWS PRESENTED ABOUT POVERTY AND HARDSHIP AS OUR PRIMARY FOCUS 
 
--THURS. 3/30, your ENTIRE INDIVIDUAL DAILY GRADE will be based upon TWO THINGS:
1) your class discussion of these two texts concerning your evaluation of and about each party's responses to poverty, hardship, etc.; **HINT: USE THE SUPPLEMENTAL MATERIAL LINKED WITH PARKER'S LETTER ABOVE TO GUIDE YOUR DISCUSSION POINTS**

2) your effort to ANNOTATE/MARK THE TEXTS to help form your ideas for discussion (**I will be visually assessing your annotations as you discuss Thursday!)

**I will open up the discussion of each text with a starting point, and then EVERYONE will be expected to contribute to the in-class discussion, each of you using one another's points/responses as a 'springboard' for more comments
 
 **COME TO CLASS THURSDAY 3/30 WITH:

--some valid "text-based" point/argument 
--comparison to previous texts or themes 
--analysis/viewpoint/clarification
--DO NOT JUST MERELY COME TO THIS DISCUSSION WITH A SUMMARY OF THESE TWO TEXTS!!!!!!!
