“TMDG” Essay Thesis Statement

In Connell’s thrilling short story, the elements of suspense and foreshadowing combine in order to create a sense of dread and impending evil, thus forcing readers to stay connected to the text’s intense plot shifts.

Both suspense and foreshadowing combine in unique form in “The Most Dangerous Game,” thus provoking readers to question what will happen next as the ominous plot unfolds and the hunter ultimately becomes the hunted.

Connell masterfully employs suspense and foreshadowing in “The Most Dangerous Game” to enable readers to visualize events that will transpire while simultaneously creating a feeling of dread and apprehension throughout the text.

Essentially, Connell’s unique form of suspense of foreshadowing employed within his short story imbues a sense of apprehension in readers as the text presents a wild spin on the notion of human civility versus rationality.
