My AP class reads the article Bloom wrote in 2000 titled "Can 35 Million Book Buyers Be Wrong? Yes." and this site offers a hearty response to Bloom's criticism. It's worth a read and a laugh.
I am so tired. Senior grades are due tomorrow and I still have their senior research projects to grade as well as their final exams from the past two days to enter. I'm attempting to read an adapted version of "Romeo and Juliet" with the 9III class in the next three days. Ha. Never accomplished that before, but I must say, we've read a lot this semester: Fahrenheit 451, Speak, Night, The Wave, To Kill a Mockingbird, The Odyssey excerpts, and various and sundry short stories, essays, and poems to suppliment the large texts. Fun stuff. This is a great group of freshmen. I have to say I'll miss them. :)
Seniors, ah...I'll miss them too, but it's time for the next big step. Overall, it's been a really successful, productive year; I just hope the skills I taught them/shaped for them transfer over in their college classes as well as life itself.
On an even brighter note...1 1/2 weeks til HAWAII!!! !!!!!

I probably just murdered the spelling of those Hawaiian words...
Get the good kind in a box with a girl wearing a hula skirt and smiling at the camera, not the crappy ones in a blue box.

sorry about to day im starting to think its more than just being tired.i have a headache from hell. anyways i meant to right in your book thing to have fun in hawaii or how ever you spell it. sorry kroeg but if i feel this bad tommorrow (i cant even type) im not coming to school not even for extra credit. but ill probably suck it up and come i just might break down again.... you can alwaaays tell wen im sick everything i normally do i do wrong.. here are my symptoms.. they're funny. i forget things i cry for no reason my head throbs and then i start trying to act like im ok resultng in me acting high. lol. so now you'll know for the next for years wat to expect. in just wierd.. lol. luv ya

But yeah, I'm so glad that you don't hate our class as much as most the other freshmen. But honestly, I don't blame you. They all suck. Be careful in Hawaii. Mr. Brown said there are lots of Mongooses (Mongeese? haha) or something like that there. And he also said something about cats with bend tails because they are all inbred. or...something. I guess you would have to ask him. hahaha. but yeah. Have fun!
