Got that????
I'm scoring the 4th grade North Carolina writing exam w/ Pearson and it's amazing how 4th graders can kill the spelling of a word they wanna use no matter what. (The phrase above is "completely flabbergasted," btw)....
And I can definitely spot the kids who have dyslexic tendencies..."I wnet to teh sotre adn bote mlik." ("I went to the store and bought milk.") Plus, I have an awesome, new simile to add to my repetiore: "I was as confused as a dog trying to figure out colors." Hot off the press! Good one! Then again, some of those kids write as well as/if not better than some of our 9th graders.
NYC was great. Love that city. I led a group around and thought I did a pretty good job. We didn't get lost and we did a lot of trekking/shopping around given the time we had. I could be accused of walking a bit fast, though. Sorry, girls. Wasn't that 14-block sprint in eight minutes fun, fun fun?!?!? Back to work now. Five weeks left with seniors. I'm ready for another break already. :)
Oh, Ben: change "Taccoa," please...oh, and welcome to America courtesy of Ellis Island; you know, in case I forgot to tell ya years ago....
