I thought I'd heard it all, but...

My, my; I guess ignorance truly is bliss for some people. I'll let this one speak for itself...

It's not this person's job to educate the world.

It's the world's job to educate themselves..

It's funny what extremes we go to to prove that we're right.

wow..what is WRONG with these people? believe me, Harry Potter is most definitely NOT rife with pagan symbolism. i should know. jeez. these people need to get over themselves and realize that this is NOT reality; they can choose to ignore the BOOKS if they want, but they should be glad their kids are READING instead of sitting mindless in front of the TV. and, while i shouldn't be getting this worked up over a simple book series, the stupidity of people just pisses me off. oh, and yes, i know magic is all "witchy" and there are witches in the book who practice witchcraft but, seriously, what do people think miracles are? miracles are things which cannot be explained through science or fact. and what is magic? is it not the same thing? and, yet again, i must reiterate that those "pagan" aspects aren't that bad. Are these people going to start bashing classic literature because it ties back to Greek mythology? because that's technically pagan, too. I mean, any faith which is not Christian (as Greek mythology is), can be considered pagan. but, enough ranting, i think. i should just let these people wallow in their own misguidance and idiocy. oh, and teaching children not to believe in magic, i think, would make them less apt to believe in miracles...
still, people shall think what they want. but please, if you're going to bash something, at least do so with relavant and accuate information...

Although slightly misguided and less liberal than my own beliefs, I found this site to actually have some very good information about the origins of the Church of Satan and other interesting occultic practices. Those people have done their homework. So they think Harry Potter is the devil. Let them believe what they want.

Um. Wow. Someone read the book looking for stuff, ya know? I mean, most of that stuff would just go over people's heads. Like mine. :):)

Entertainment. Fiction. Context. Eh.

I just had to comment that lady. And here is that comment ^ ^ for your viewing pleasure. Oh and pshaw, Harry Potter isn't even real witchcraft.

Wow. This article just makes me sad for you. I, myself, would hesitate to compare God and Jesus with a man so utterly evil as Tom Riddle. If you must find a biblical allusion, why not see the similarities between Harry Potter and Jesus? After all, I'm not sure if you have read this far, but Harry sacrifices himself before the armies of Lord Voldemort to save the world from a mighty outpouring of hate. The article you have written contradicts the understanding and brotherly love that God evinces.

"The reason why Mrs. Rowling calls Jesus Tom is simple. In England, the saying every Tom, Dick and Harry is highly popular and in this case alludes to the omnipresence of God in our world. This is another attempt to confuse us by presenting a false, mixed up trinity: Tom, the Father; Dick, the Spirit (better known in the series as the ghost Sir Benedict de Mimpsy Porkington, affectively called Nearly-Headless-Dick by the children); and Harry, as the Son, the false Christ. Later, Tom the Son will remark that he and Potter are very alike (p. 340), causing more confusion in the heart of the reader."

First, I do not believe Mrs. Rowling has ever made a connection between Tom and Jesus. If she were actively trying to promote Anti-Christianity (notably not the same thing as witchcraft, which is also not truly represented in the series as they are fantasy) would she not make this claim openly? Of lesser importance, it is not "Nearly-Headless-Dick." Rather, it is Nearly-Headless-Nick.

If Christianity has not enriched your life and allowed you to love your fellow man, instead of having "faced and fought [them] since the dark ages," then I sincerely hope you find your true religion. For, if a religion does not better the lives of your fellows then it is simply a shallow quest for some eternal reward.

Wow. WOW. Okay, first: "...brewing of drugs made by boiling alive babies pulled from the earth, sexual congress with goats..." What book is SHE reading?!

And here's my second favorite part: "In a particularly distasteful and lewd display, Potter tries to tempt the rightfully furious Angel by raising his pant leg and showing him his nude ankle. In this way the Harry Potter books contribute to the hidden gay agenda. When this temptation is refused, he has a malignant house spirit who embodies all the evils of stem-cell research curse the angel down." When I read that, I realized that this article MUST be a joke. Nobody can really believe that. I think this is satire. The author is making fun of Christians.
